Rope Rescue Courses

Personal Basic Rope Rescue

16 Hours - 2 to 6 Students

* These courses are equivalent to our "full" courses. But, because we limit the number of students enrolled and increase the instructor-to-student ration, we can do these courses in about 1/2 the time. They are intense!

More than "just rappelling." We cover rescue equipment, ropes, and harnesses. Students learn usable easy-to-tie knots and hitches. They learn to safely rappel and tie off. They learn self rescue skills, and how to change from one rope to another. They learn safe proper belay techniques. The students learn one-person rescues and several types of ascending (going back up the rope).

The students learn about litters, litter packaging and patient tie-ins. The course teaches the students about hauling systems with easy to learn, easy to remember, simple methods. Students will also learn about litter raising and lowering systems, on inclines.
