Vehicle Rescue
22 - 26 Hours - Limited to 12 Students
Prerequisite: Levels I & II or Basic Rope Rescue and a State Vehicle Rescue Course
This is another fun advanced course. This is vehicle rescue for the real world. The course concentrates on vehicles in precarious positions. Students work on vehicles "on the edge," over the embankment, and at the bottom: upside down, on their side, against a tree, and/or otherwise unstable.

The students must learn specialized stabilization techniques and equipment. They must sometimes work while on rope. They must learn how to get special and sometimes heavy equipment "over the edge" to the site of the crash and in service. And they must apply lowering and hauling systems to get the equipment and personnel down to the crash and then to get the patient, personnel, and equipment back up the hillside.

They learn how to do all of this while on rope. The students may also encounter hazardous or toxic substances and may be required to accomplish all they have learned while on air and working from an SCBA. They learn how to rations their air, their people, and their resources. This is an intense course! This course was designed for the serious vehicle rescue technician. Once you've mastered the techniques in this course, you'll be comfortable with just about any situation "out in the real world."
