Firefighting Instruction & Rescue Educational Services
Rope Rescue Courses
Emergency Rescue & Recovery
16 Hours - 15 to 30 Students
Specially designed for the rural fire department that may need to use rope equipment, yet they do not want to do vertical rescue techniques (i.e. rappelling, ascending, etc.).

This course teaches the students about ropes, knots, and other related equipment. It teaches them how to get the medic over the embankment to the auto accident victim, and then how to get the medics and patients safely back up to the ambulance. It teaches litter packaging, tie-ins, and litter handling. This course also teaches basic hauling systems.

Once completed, the course will have taught them how to safely evacuate that wounded hunter off the mountain without further injury. More importantly, it will have taught the students how to accomplish these tasks without injuring any of the rescuers. This course gives the students a good general rope rescue understanding and background.
