Rope Rescue Courses
Advanced Rope Rescue
40 Hours - 12 to 24 Students
Prerequisites: Basic Rope Rescue or Technical Rope Rescue Levels I & II
This course begins where other courses end. The serious rescue student will be taught, among other things, various anchoring and equalizing systems, including minimal anchoring. Students will be taught vertical litter techniques that include litter handling and patient loading "on the wall." They will learn all about technically advanced pulley and hauling systems. The students will use both a dynamometer and a scale to prove why some systems work and why some do not. They will then incorporate most of what they have learned, thus far, into the construction and use of various types and designs of highlines.

Upon completion of this course, our students are well qualified for almost any rescue situation. This has been proven over and over by the teams and various individuals who have taken this course, and have gone on to accomplish many safe successful rescues.

The students will learn about versatile multiple use-multi-directional rescue systems. They will learn about system knot passing, direction changing, and problem solving. Students will spend time "on the wall" and working "within the systems." Belay systems, safety systems, and directional systems are other areas that receive their fair share of our time.
