Basic Rope Rescue

30 Hours - 15 to 30 Students

This comprehensive course is designed for the beginner. It teaches more than just "rappelling." This course covers: ropes, harnesses, software, hardware, and other rescue equipment. Students learn safe, easy, and proper knot tying. They learn to rappel safely and properly. The students learn several belay techniques. They learn to tie-off, and to change ropes. Students also learn to do knot passing and self-rescue (while on rope).

The course teaches easy to learn and easy to understand basic hauling systems. They learn litter packaging, tie-ins, basic litter evolutions, and much more. The course concludes with our, now famous, hard-core "stokes litter - obstacle course" which teaches the new rescuer the realities of everyday basic rope rescue.
